HERE ARE SOME OTHER WAYS I LIKE

TO EXPRESS MY CREATIVITY

My Story

FROM STRAWBERRY FIELDS TO

SILICON VALLEYS

My name is Jonahtan “Jonah” Rabago (he/him). I am a Product Designer based in San Francisco, CA, with a background in graphic design. If you would like to contact me, my contact information is above.

Growing up, even though we didn’t have much, I always had paper and a pencil to express my creativity. One of my earliest memories was of my preschool teacher taking me to the principal’s office. Not because I was in trouble but because she wanted to show off my work.

It gave me the early encouragement to be the art and design nerd I am today. It’s the reason I get chills when I go to museums, why I accidentally got a degree in photography (for taking too many photography classes), and why I have been designing for over 10 years now as a self-taught designer.

My love for art and design has given me opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise as an immigrant bound to pick strawberries. At 16, I was running Australia’s #1 gaming organization’s design team, L7 Gaming. Right out of high school, I used my experience to get an internship at Digital NEST, where after only three months, I got promoted to Lead Designer. As their first designer, I helped build the framework for their design agency, which they now share with four new locations, and helped mentor disadvantaged youth in my community.

I was able to continue my education due to a full-ride scholarship from California College of the Arts, where I graduated with a BFA in Interaction Design. My latest work experience has been at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, where I transformed complex medical systems into intuitive experiences for Doctors and Nurses. I completed 2 rounds after being invited back for a second term.
